Can You Help Build Their Houses Again?

I went to Balulang last Friday afternoon and check out the houses of our friends who are living near the Riverside area. I saw one of my relative’s neighbor Manong S building a hut because their previous hut has been wiped out by the flood.

I went nearer to his unfinished hut and wanted to ask him of the things he needed to complete it. But he’s not familiar with my face, so I started the conversation by asking him if he received the goods given to him from our church. He smiled and said, “Yes, I got it!

While talking to him, I found out that he couldn’t finish his hut because he lack some materials. The only materials he used were some scraps from his old hut. He wanted to complete it as soon as possible so they can have a place to sleep at night. As of the moment, he and his family are still sleeping under a tree.

Yesterday, somebody gave him two pieces of plywood and now he started to put some walls on his hut. Manong S still needs some wood for the flooring and some roofing sheets to complete his hut. As I try to look around, others still have their houses standing but there are no more walls and even got damaged roofs.

Like Manong S, many people who have been affected by the flood are now building their houses again. Some of them can’t complete it because they lack the resources in building or repairing a simple hut. It is my prayer that many people will be used by God to extend help to people like Manong S so they can now start all over again. Would you like to be one?
